Zambia have maintained their grip on top of group A as  with a 3-1 crushing of egypt this evening at the  heroes stadium in Lusaka.

Fashion Saka and a brace from Patson Daka were enough for the Young Chipolopolo to overcome a stbborn Egypt who had taken an early lead .

A counter attack orchestrated by Enock Mwepu lands on Patson Daka’s foot with the resultant shot going inches wide.

The host were at again in the 5th minute when Fashion Sakala’s long cross went begging with no one to tap home.

Sakala was a constant threat to the Egyptian goal giving the young pharaoh’s keeper Mostafa Mohammed a hard time .

For the Zambian keeper Mangani to make a meaningful save.

The real chance for Egypt came in the 33rd minute when Ahmed Ramadan ‘s shot was stopped by Mangani Banda in the Zambian goal after he had dodged himself past the Zambian defence.
Egypt finally scored the opener in the 36th minute when captain Karim Hassan shot towards the goal was out of reach

 

Fashion Sakala headed home from close range in the 71st minute to send the hosts ahead after a fine cross from Enock Mwepu
