Vipers SC coach Jorge Miguel Da Costa says that his team will need to start scoring goals to make the best out of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The venoms were 2-1 winners over BUL in the Uganda Premier League and 0-2 aganist Soana in the Uganda Cup soaking in a single goal.
Despite the wins, missed chances dominated proceedings bringing the similar display during the preliminary round of continental competition where the home side were held to a goalless draw at home by Volac de Moroni and coach Da Costa agrees that they have to improve.
“The only way we can win games is by scoring and therefore concentration, creating and converting chances into goals is our main target,” explained Coach Jorge Miguel Da Costa
“We are at home and all we need is to win, win and win and we have high hopes Vipers will eliminate their South Africa opponents,” he added.
As a means of encouraging the participating teams to score more goals, the Confederation of Africa Football awards a token for every
goal scored; largesse the Ugandan side need to improve inorder benefit from at this stage if they will qualify.
Vipers will be meeting their first round opponents Platinum Stars of South Africa in a match to be played at the newly opened St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on saturday.
