Yanga 1-1 Zanaco
Zambian Super league defending champions Zanaco moved closer to the money brackets of the CAF Champions league after a deserved 1-1 draw with Tanzanian Young Africans at the National stadium in Dar
The match watched by a significant Yanga fans had Zanaco travelling fans who were totalling 120 together with Simba fans
The match started on a high with Yanga the more hungrier in goal.
Zimbabwean duo of Donald Ngoma and Thabani Kamusoko who were easier doubtful before the match were earlier calprits of missed chances
Zanaco’s real chance came in the 18th minute when Richard Kasonde’s free kick went over the bar
Obrey Chirwa had his diving header just inches above the post while Thabani ‘s pin point cross found Ngoma in a scoring position but blasted wide
Zanaco ‘s Augustine Mulenga and Kwame Attrams were a constant threat to Yanga with their fine runs on the left flank leaving Mwinyi Hajii and Hassan Hamis in constant trouble.
Yanga however took the lead in the 32nd minute when a solo effort by Simon Msuva moving with the ball past Zanaco defenders before a one two touch with Obrey Chirwa with the latter lashing a strong shot that went out of reach for Racha Kola
The lead lasted until the first half with the second half Zanaco coning on strongly with raid after another
Coach George Lwandamina was the first to do a substitution when he brought on Emmanuel Martin for Donald Ngoma before his counterpart Mumba Mumamba replaced Saith Sakala
With Kennedy Musonda.
Also coming on was Deus Kaseke for Zambian Justin Zulu while another Tanzanian Ayub Lyanga plying his trade in Zanaco was brought in for Ernest Mbewe
The substitution proved worthy with Zanaco hitting the wood work twice before Ghanaian Kwame Attrams scored a beauty to level matters.
The goal disoriented the Yanga players as Zanaco pressed on to hold for the precious away goal
The return leg will be played in a weeks time at the Heroes Stadium
