Death has been reported of ex-Harambee Stars defender, Charles Handas, who passed away in Nairobi.
Handas began representing Kenya in 1998 after being handed his national team call up by the late Reihard Fabisch.
The former Gor Mahia player, begun his career with Scarlet in 1983 before joining Saba Saba FC in Mombasa and later landed at Bata Bullets of Limuru where he spent some four years.
Handas then moved to Thika Textile Mill (KTM) and when the team was disbanded he moved to Malindi where he joined another premiership team at that time Alaskan FC before he retired from active football in 2006.

Prior to his death he was the organizer of the Kothbiro tournament as a way of giving back to Ziwani community and the football fraternity at large. Kothbiro is held annually in December.
