Ethiopian Premier League outfit St. George FC will tomorrow inaugurate its first ever youth academy.
The ceremony will be attended by among others the Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Issa Hayatou.
The facility situated in Bishoftu town just outside Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa was constructed at a cost of USD 3 million.
It is named after former St. George and CAF president Yidnekachew Tessema. Tessema is highly regarded and is often referred to as the father of Ethiopian football.
The ultra-modern academy, which meets both CAF and FIFA standard, boasts a gymnasium, a health center, two international standards pitches, two dormitories, a recreational center, café and restaurants, classrooms and changing rooms.
Its aim is to nature home grown talents to help curb influx of foreign players in the club.
Ethiopia is host to CAF academy, which is still under construction in Addis Ababa.
