Ugandan international and Proline striker Nelson Senkatuka has expressed his delight in being called up to the Uganda Cranes squad for the Eastern region tour.

Speaking exclusively to Soka25east.com ,The attacker who last featured for Uganda in 2015 at the Cecafa senior challenge in Ethiopia, credited his call up to hard work and hopes to cement his place in the Milutin Sredovic led team.

“It’s a good feeling when your hard work is recognised and rewarded. I’ve been working hard to get back to the national team having last featured at the Cecafa tournament in Ethiopia and hopefully I can be part of the team more regularly from now on.”

The former KCCA talisman who has been in fine form for his club scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists attributes his performance to working hard and help from teammates and the technical bench.

“I think the secret is I’ve been working harder in training and doing more personal sessions, sometimes twice a day. I always knew what I was capable of and I just had to get my head in the right place and confidence back after going through a difficult time at the back end of last season when I wasn’t playing much. I’ve also got a lot of help from the coaches and my team mates and we are understanding each other more and more and it’s showing on the pitch.”

The London’s  Holborn College Business management graduate is confident of guiding 6th placed Proline FC to a 5th place finish and reach double figures in both goals and assists.

“As a club we’re aiming for a top 5 finish which will be a great achievement having just been promoted last season. Personally I’m looking to get into double figures for both goals and assists”
