Marc Wilmots is the new coach of the Ivory Coast national team,the Ivorian Football Federation has announced.
The former Belgium coach suceeds Michel Dussuyer who resigned in January this year after failing to guide the side to the quarter finals of Africa Cup of Nations.
Wilmots, is believed to have been tasked with qualifying the team for the 2018 World Cup and local media have reported that his contract will be terminated if he does not meet that target after having signed a two year contract.
The 48 year-old has had some previous experience as an international coach,guiding Belgium national team to 32 wins,8 daws and losing only once from 50 matches they played under his watch.
