Thika Municipal Stadium on Sunday 31^st will play host to a top of the table clash between two sides that enjoy playing attacking football. Both Thika United and Gor Mahia have distinguished themselves as offensive sides going by recent records.

Thika United has scored in all but one of the thirteen matches they have played so far, scoring seventeen times in the process, while Gor has recorded just two barren draws and scored twenty five times in similar number of matches.

It’s also worth noting that while Gor has only conceded six times and kept eight clean sheets, Thika has conceded fourteen times with five clean sheets kept.

Thika United head coach Tim Bryett believes the match will be a good one and that it will be a good measure of his side’s development, “Looking forward to a good game of football from two teams playing well and a good test to see how we are progressing.”

Tim also believes that the pressure will be on the other side and he hopes to repeat his side’s triumph over “K’Ogalo” in the pre-season, “It won’t be easy,a good challenge, but we don’t have unbeaten record and are not league champions so the pressure is on Gor.”

“It’s going to be a tough game but will try for a repeat of the pre-season result. I just call on the two sets of fans to enjoy the spectacle.”

Gor Mahia boasts of a slight advantage over their Sunday rivals in six past league encounters,with two wins and the rest being draws, of which two are scoring and two being barren draws.

The rivalry between this two sides have grown over the seasons, thanks to the memories of the eventful November 10, 2012 when Thika United under Coach John Kamau denied Gor a chance to win their first league title in 17 years, “K’Ogalo” needed a win of any margin to clinch the title,but the match painfully ended 1-1 for Gor fans.
