Ivory Coast beat Russia 2-0 in an international friendly played on Friday night at the Stadion FK Krasnador.
Jonathan Kodjia and Wilfred Zaha scored for the Elephants in an free flowing encounter.
In an open contest, Ivory Coast Ambroise Oyongo nearly gifted the Russia an early opener, as his poor clearance was nearly turned into a goal but Ondoa punched the ball for unfruitful corner.
The Elephants responded with interest in the 30th minute, largely through the efforts of Jonathan Kodhija who turned homeva pass from Serge Wilfred Kanon for the opener.
While Cote d’Ivore played some attractive football in the final third, Russia looked dangerous on the counter but went into half time trailing.
The Elephants doubled their lead in the 70th minute, when Zaha’s shot found the back of the net.
