African minnows Comoros Islands will tackle Malawi in the first match of Group B Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after outlasting Mauritius in a double-header over the last five days.

Both sides drew 1-1 in the second leg away in Mauritius after Comoros won 2-0 in Moroni.

In a highly tensed match played under hot conditions, Comoros forward El Fardou Ben Mohamed was seriously injured and had to be rushed to hospital in Port Louis after sustaining a serious head injury.

Ben Mohammed produced a man of the match display scoring the first goal for Comoros in the 17th minutes of the first half before Mauritus got an equalizer in the last minute of the stanza.

Comoros will now face the near impossible mission of defeating Cameroon and also Morocco in the same group.The matches will start on July this year.
