Kenya’s oldest cup competition currently named Gotv Shield Cup 2015 edition will be launched on Wednesday June 3, 2015.
Teams wishing to take part have till Saturday May 30, 2015 to confirm participation by paying 30,000 shillings, Kenyan FA has directed.
The 2015 competition which is expected to kick off on the weekend of June 6th to 7th will see a total of 64 teams take part with only four being seeded, those that made it to the semi final stage of the 2014 edition, which includes winners Sofapaka, finalists Posta Rangers, West Kenya Sugar and AFC Leopards.
The tournament will be played in six rounds and is scheduled to end on Tuesday 20 October.
The first edition of this tournament was won by Mombasa Liverpool in 1956. Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards boasts of the highest number of wins, with 10 and 9 titles respectively.
