Malawi will play Kenya in a friendly in April in preparation for the 2018 CHAN qualifier away against Madagascar.
Flames will play the Harambee Stars in Machakos on 18 April.
Kenya will be using the match to prepare for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away in Sierra Leone while Malawi will use the game as their warm-up for the first leg of African Championship against Madagascar.
New coach
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) secretary general Alfred Gunda has confirmed the friendly in an interview during the unveiling of new Malawi coach Gerald Phiri.
Phiri was appointed alongside Peter Mponda as team manager; Phillip Nyasulu as goalkeeper trainer and Levison Mwale as team doctor.
His appointment comes few days after the goverment approved the funding for the national team ending speculations on whether money will be available for CHAN and AFCON.
Phiri will take care the team until the expatriate coach is recruited,and he has already named the squad that will go into camp on Sunday to prepare for the match aganist Kenya.
