By Lorraine Ruto,
Football Kenya Federation(FKF) branches are demanding the electoral
process for the forthcoming elections be clearly spelt out in good time to impact fairness and transparency.
The branches claimed the Executive had ignored and swept away all their demands since the last AGM held in Nakuru last year.
The branches that met in Nairobi demanded to know why the Federation under the chairmanship of Sam Nyamweya have failed to wire the annual Kshs.250,000 to branches .
The amount according to Nyanza North Chairman Joseph Andere was pledged to branches in a previous annual General Meeting(AGM) held
on June 27th 2014 at the Kabarak Guest House in Nakuru.
Friday’s meeting was attended by 13 branches out of 19 that met on the outskirts of Nairobi.Subsequently missing in the meeting
was a section of rebel FKF National Executive members led by Tom Alila who were expected to chair the meeting.
Addressing the media,Andere said branches operations had stalled because the National office had failed to send the money as agreed
in the Kabarak meeting.
He said the meeting did not dwell on any individual involved with money scandal since the person must be given a chance to defend
himself of any allegations.
South coast Chairman Khamisi Mwayoyo told the media that Rift Valley FKF branch had put a request for its split to make administration work easier to carry on.
Mwayoyo said members were also perplexed to hear that the forthcoming AGM scheduled for Kisii late next month will tackle the issue of lifting suspension on some members.
‘What have they done since they were suspended to warrant the lifting of their suspension unless somebody has dined with the saidculprits ?he wondered .He said members were not against the AGM being held in Kisii noting that they were ready for dialogue with
the Executive.
“We want to approach the forthcoming AGM with soberness. We want to develop our football from the grassroots and bring all stakeholders
together. We are ready for dialogue because we don’t want to spoil or cripple our football that is the livelihood of many stakeholders “ said Mwayoyo.
