Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi will be endorsed as the next CAF vice President on Tuesday,April 11 after playing a major role in Ahmad Ahmad’s triumph over Issah Hayatou.
Nyantakyi is expected to be nominated by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad who emerged victorious in CAF’s general elections which was held in Addis Ababa.
In an interview with TV3 Sports on Monday April 3,Nyantakyi expressed his expectations for the seat of the two vice presidents with the other position going to DR Congo’s Omari Suleiman.
“I am pretty confident that based on the discussions we had, there is a great consensus on [my nomination],”he said
A legal practitioner by proffesion,Nyantakyi has been serving as a CAF executive committee member for almost a decade and was voted again at the congress.
The Wa All Stars owner has come under intense pressure to vacate the seat as the Ghana Football Association President having assumed office back in 2004 but he is expected to be voted by the CAF Confederation’s Executive Committee and he maybe required to ignore GFA boss role.
