Newly-elected CAF president Ahmad Ahmad will on Friday attend a COSAFA meeting in Johannesburg,South Africa.
This has been revealed by Zimbabwe Football Association (ZFA) president Philip Chiyangwa who is also the regional football body head.
According to Chiyangwa the meeting that will be attended by all 14 football association heads will not have any agenda.
“There is no particular agenda for this meeting. It is just for all of COSAFA FA presidents to meet and greet our new CAF president. Most members might have wanted to have a one-on-one meeting with the CAF president but we have decided to bring everyone in the same room to talk to the new president,” said Chiyangwa in an interview with a section of press.
Chiyangwa led COSAFA where the Madagascar born Ahmad comes from, campaigned to dethrone long serving Issa Hayatou in Addis Ababa last month. Many speculate the meeting to be a “home welcoming” party for the new CAF boss.
