Onduparaka FC goalkeeper Richard Anyama has taken the blame for his club’s exit from the Uganda cup after falling 2-1 to Sadolin Paints FC at Namboole stadium on Sunday evening.
Anyama who had a bad day in office on the evening requested for forgiveness from his team mates and the passionate club fans hours after the match.
“It is unforgettable day to me and I fully take responsibility of our exit from the Uganda cup… I know how it has hurt you our dearest fans because it was all what we are aiming for at least to end this season with a medal but I have reigned it all.. I have disappointed you my fans and my fellow teammates but whole heartedly accept my apology…. Am really very sorry , so sorry and am waiting for any decision to be done by the technical team, my teammates and my dearest fans…I AM VERY SORRY ONDUPARAKA FAMILY” he posted on his official Facebook page.
Sadolin Paints took the lead in the 18th when a miscalculation between goalie Anyama and defender Akram was capitalised by Fred Kyambadde.
Nasser Muzamir minutes later made it 2-0 and in the second half the Caterpillars pulled one back but it wasn’t enough to help them progress into the semi finals.
In other results on the evening, defending champions Vipers SC were shocked at their new St . Marys Stadium by FUFA Big League side Paidha Black Angles 1-0.
This edition’s Uganda Cup finals will be played at the Betway Green Light Stadium in Arua with the winner representing Uganda in the CAF Confederations cup.
