Baron Oketch has been praised by Ulinzi Stars coach Benjamin Nyangweso following his contribution in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Bandari at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
Oketch joined the army side on loan from Gor Mahia after failing to land a regular spot in the club’s first team squad.
He has however settled at Ulinzi, for whom he has starred in as a sub in league matches this season and Nyangweso beleives he is a valuable addition to the squad.
“Previously he has been coming in as a sub but we thought to give him a chance to start and give him a challenge which he handled. I believe he played very well because he kept the defense busy with good runs. He now needs to keep the same tempo up,” Nyangweso said in an interview with Ulinzi Stars portal.
The coach has also heaped praise to his charges for the win and said he was happy with the way the boys responded in the match.
“We scored two goals, which was great but we should have had more. It was a very tough match and seeing that we managed to hold on to get the win says something about our fighting spirit,” he added.
The soldiers next match will be on Saturday against Tusker FC at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru and three points will go a long way in boosting the team morale.
