Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi has admitted of scoring concern after going for a second successive away match without finding the back of the net in Sunday’s barren draw against Muhoroni Youth .
The slum boys have failed to score in the two away matches against Nzoia Sugar and Muhoroni Youth and the former national team coach admits the drought is a concern to him. He was however impressed by the team’s overall display against the Muhoroni side.
“I think we played well today (Sunday) because we created more chances than our last away match. In the second half we were clearly the better side but it’s a big concern if we cannot convert the chances that come our way.
“At this level even one chance is enough to kill a match and it is important that the players realize that, “said Kimanzi.
However, Kimanzi was impressed by his subsitutes who made their presence felt immediately after entering the pitch notably Harrison Mwendwa, David Owino and Ronald Okoth.
“It’s not always easy playing away and getting a point is certainly a plus for us. I was impressed with the substitutes because they maintained the tempo and put more pressure on the opponents, ” he added.
Mathare United, currently placed 11th on the log will face Posta Rangers in a home tie to be played on Monday 17 April 2017.
