South Africa PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns are negotiating with Kenyan premier league side Sofapaka as they prepare to acquire Burundian striker Abdoul Razak Fiston .
Mamelodi Sundowns are currently working on finalising their squad for 2015/2016 season and Fiston has been one of the major targets since impressing coach Pitso Mosimane last month when he attended a one week trial playing two friendly matches.
Razak Fiston told Soka25east.com that he was optimistic of leaving Sofapaka in the mid-season to join Sundowns in South Africa.
“I am happy things are going on well concerning my intended transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns who are currently in talks with Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa .I am waiting for the Kenyan premier league to take the mid season break next week then i hope to travel to South Africa because Kalekwa is happy to let me move since i have given them my best since i joined”Fiston told Soka25east.com
Mosimane was impressed with Fiston’s performances coupled with his work ethic when he trained with his team in Chloorkop in April.
The 23-year-old is currently contracted to Sofapaka in the Kenyan Premier League. Razak has scored six goals in 13 games for his side so far in their season and has been the biggest Revelation at the Batoto Ba Mungu side with his immense talent taking his team to 2nd in the log table just below Gor Mahia.
