Former Burkina Faso goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama is unwell and undergoing treatment at Regional Hospital Centre (CHR)in Banfora.
The former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper has already lost sight and he is visibily ill according to the Governor of the Cascades region who visited him on Tuesday.
However the doctors have not been able to provide proper treatment to guarantee his release from the hospital.
Sources close to his family states that the ex-goalkeeper needs urgent help.Since he was admitted he has received financial support from the former international, Rahim Ouedraogo among others.
Soulama started his career with Turkish side Denizlispor where he played successful matches at the club which made it to the UEFA Cup that season. His recent club was Asante Kotoko and he was once nominated as Goalkeeper of the Year 2008 in Ghana
Soulama got his first call up to the national team for 2004 African Nations Cup team,where the Stallions finished bottom of their group in the first round of competition, thus failing to secure qualification for the quarter-finals.
After about five years absence from the national side he was recalled in 2012 for a May 16 exhibition match against Benin national football team and next month’s 2014 FIFA World Cup double-header qualifiers against Congo and Gabon.
