Kenyan whistleblower Devies Omweno is among 12 center referees selected for the up-coming U17 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Omweno is making a comeback on the continental scene after serving a three-month ban for mishandling 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup qualifier between Libya and Tunisia on November 11th.
Locally, the celebrated ref has been active in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season after the short stint in the cold.
He did duty when Kenya faced DR Congo in an international friendly last month at the Machakos Stadium.
The U17 AFCON kicks-off in Gabon from 14th to 28th May 2017 with 8 teams taking part.
Tanzania’s “Serengeti boys” will be the sole representative of the East African region.
