State owned Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has terminated its sponsorship deal with the national following government’s directive.
The Black Stars have been receiving $3 million annually as sponsorship money from GNPC for the past five years.
The government has however authorized the amount to be invested in education and technology.
Ghana Football Association will now have to look for another headline sponsor to plug in the financial hole left by GNPC.
The situation leaves the Black Stars with just two sponsors (PUMA and UNIBANK) after Rice Master also withdrew their sponsorship package.
