Kenya’s international defender David Owino “Calabar” clocked ninety minutes as Zesco United’s eight matches unbeaten run came to abrupt halt in the hands of Nkwazi FC.
The loss leaves Zesco second on the MTN FAZ Super League log with 20 points from nine matches, seven points behind Zanaco who have played two matches more.
The midweek fixture was played at the Levi Mwanawasa Stadium on Wednesday 3rd.
Lottie Nyambili fired the visitors ahead in the 19th minute before Winston Kalengo equalized for Zesco at stroke of half time, as the match headed into the breather all square. Chipungu Musukuma restored Nkwazi’s in the 59th as they held on for the three valuable points.
In another match of the day at the Sunset Stadium, a goal each from Moses Phiri and Aubrey Funga earned Zanaco three points as they beat Red Arrows 2-0 to cement their lead at the top of the MTN FAZ Super League with 27 points from 11 matches. Zanaco now remains the only unbeaten side.
