K24 television will broadcast live Sunday’s Mashemeji derby pitting eternal rivals AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia from the Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.

The 81st meeting of the Kenya’s most dominant clubs will kick-off at 3PM.

Jack Oguda, the Kenyan Premier League Chief Executive Officer confirmed the development to Soka25east.com.

“It is confirmed the match will be live on K24,” Jack said.

No monetary gain

However, the teams will not enjoy any monetary gain as the rights were awarded for free.

“Our main aim is to get the KPL back on TV as soon as possible and K24 has shown willingness to carry the matches on free to air.

“The Mashemeji derby is just a starting point as the negotiations continue,” Jack explained.

The KPL has been in the dark since last month when Supersport cancelled its broadcast deal with the Kenyan topflight for breach of contract.
