Defending champions Yanga yesterday made a strong statement to their quest to defend title when they beat Kagera Sugar 2-1 at the National stadium in Dar
The win propelled Yanga to the top position with 62 points same as Simba but with a match in hand .Yanga remains with three matches while Simba two matches .
The defending champions just need two wins out of the three to be crowned champions .
Speaking to soka25east ,Yanga coach Zambian George Lwandamina said they are focused on the top price which is the league title and they will fight to win considering that they are not in any competitions .
Yanga was eliminated by Zambian side Zanaco in the CAF Champions league before going down to Egyptian side in the CAF Confederations cup .Yanga also failed to defend the Domestic cup title they won last year falling to Mbao of Mwanza in the semi final .
Yanga have tough matches against relegation threatened Toto Africans ,Mbao FC and Mbeya City .
