A day after being unveiled as the official shirt sponsor of the Premier League side Everton, Kenyan betting giants Sportpesa has today penned a similar deal with Tanzanian Premier League outfit Yanga SC.
The deal with the reigning Tanzanian champions is worth $424,814 over five years.
Last week, Sportpesa was unveiled as shirt sponsor of Yanga’s eternal rivals Simba SC for $393, 683 over five years.
Sportpesa entered the Tanzanian market less than two weeks ago after capturing the Kenyan market and the two deals with the biggest and most supported teams in Tanzania are its first in the market.
In Kenya, they sponsor Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards in the Kenyan Premier League. They are also the title sponsor of the KPL as well as being the main partner of the Football Kenya Federation.
Apart from football, they are also involved in rugby in the country, where they sponsor the national 7s and 15s teams. They also support boxing.
Sportpesa entered the Premier League in England with a sponsorship deal with relegated Hull City.
The deal saw a select KPL side play a Hull City side, mainly composed of underage players, early this year.
