By Jafferson Ndhlovu,

A 72nd minute solitary goal by Aggripa Murimba brought some sigh of relief for the expensively assembled Platinum FC in this afternoon’s rescheduled week 3 fixture against troubled “Game cocks” Chicken Inn in Bulawayo.

The lack of efficiency in front of goal by the boys from Zvishavane looked like was coming home once more for them. But they rallied home to push for those three points. And in the end it paid of. They now occupy second position on sixteen points. Equal with fellow Platinum side Ngezi and dwarfed by the inferior goal difference.

The interim national team coach for Zimbabwe national team needed these points to keep pace with other pacesetters.

The first half was rather approached cautiously by both sides as none of wanted to open up and concede.

Platinum FC maintains its unbeaten record after eight games. They are the only two side with defending champions Caps United who have not tested defeat yet. Caps takes to the field tomorrow nursing the loss they suffered out in Egypt in the CAF Champions league.

Meanwhile in another week 3 rescheduled match, Highlanders coming from an abandoned match at home with bitter rivals Dynamod, were held to a nil a draw by Harare City FC.
Highlanders where denied what appeared to be genuine penalty against The Sunshine Boys.

It was another depressing result for Harare City as they continue to perform poorly. Unless they can find the formula to undo this, division one football is theirs for the taking.
