Gambia coach Sang Dong has named a strong squad that includes Modou Barrow,Bubacarr Sanneh and Lamin Jallow to face Benin in next month’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The team predominatly features players who had a succesful outing in recent 2-1 win over Central Africa Republic in March will face their West African neighbours Benin in the opening Group D clash in Contonou on June 11.
The Scorpions squad, which is its strongest in years for the country, also includes top performers Yusuf Njie of FUS Rabat, Nottingham Forest’s Mustapha Carayol and in-form Spain-based youngster Mustapha Carayol.
The Gambia grouped alongside Togo, Algeria and opening opponents Benin is finalizing a training camp in Ghana and are scheduled to face Black Stars in a friendly encounter.
