Zambian teams on course in CAF
The elite Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation entered its third game over the past weekend in this group stage, and Soka25east reviews the two teams from Zambia that are involved in the competitions ZANACO and Zesco respectively.
CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AND ZANACO PROSPECTS
ZANACO 2-1 Cotton Sport
There were several interesting results in the second round of games in group D, including the 2-0 Al Ahly handed Cotton Sport of Cameroon and the clinical 1-0 victory ZANACO managed against Wydad Casablanca at home.
Hence the two teams entered the third round of games holding those two positions that should by now guarantee them next round passage but its a long journey to endure.
Zambian champions ZANACO hosted Cotton Sport on Saturday, knowing that a win against Cameroonina outfit was all that mattered to make sure they end the weekend in the top two paotions of the group to have realistic chances of making it out the group.
This game was important to zanaco knowing that they would have two more away games and one home after this encounter.
Zanaco were distinctly average in that game and needed Saith Sakala in the 9th minute to ease their tension and put the home side ahead.
But Souleymanou had other ideas as he equalised for the visitirs in the 25th minute to give the Cameroonian hope of getting something out of the encounter.
Congolease import Didi Kitumbo made sure Zanaco would get all the three points and lead the table before Al Ahly engaged Wydad in Egypt.
In Egypt Al Ahly came into this encounter in high spirits after notching a dramatic winner against Cotton Sport in the second round of games. Wydad were in for a tough evening and Zakaria and Ajayi scored the all important goals and pushed Al Ahly on top of group D same points with Zanaco but have a better gaol difference to that of the Zambian champions.

The next round of games with will be fourth games are on the 21 June 2017.
Coton Sport of Cameroon will welcome Zanaco hoping to revenge the 2 – 1 defeat they suffered in Zambia. Should Cotton Sport lose to Zanaco at home they will be eliminated.
Wydad Casablanca of Morocco will welcome Al Ahly of Egypt trying to avoid defeat which may just compliacte their passage to the round of 8 .

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP AND ZESCO PROSPECTS
Zesco United 1-0 Recreativo Do Libolo
Recreativo Do Libolo are not really the best of travellers in this group and again it showed , losing their second game on the road and letting Zesco take charge of the group that through the lone goal by Iddriss Mbombo
Recreativo gave a good account of themselves though against Zesco Unites in Ndola and will be disappointed that they never got anything in the match.
In another encounter Smouha and and Al Hilal played to a 1 all draw which leaves ZESCO United leading the group on six points with the two on four points.
Recreativo Do Libolo are fourth on three points .

The next games in this group come up on the 20 June 2017 with Recreativo do Libolo of Angola at home ZESCO United.
Al-Hilal Obayed of Sudan Sudan will be at home to Smouha of Egypt.
