Kenyan Premier League giants Ulinzi Stars on Monday unveiled a new shirt sponsorship deal with online sports betting firm Elitebet till the end of the season.
Under the partnership, Elitebet will become the club’s official sponsors and will have their name emblazoned on the shirts of Ulinzi players besides providing the training kits.
Though both parties declined to give the cost of the deal, we have established that Elitebet will pump millions of shillings into the club in the six months renewable deal.
Speaking during the unveiling of the deal at Department of DefenceHeadquarters in Hurlingham,Elitebet’s representative Waiyaki Hinga said;
“We have been involved in sports before and when we were thinking on where to go after oyr first venture, it wasn’t hard to choose Ulinzi Stars because they resonate with our values.It is our pleasure to join the team and we hope for a strongerpartnership in future.”
On his part,Kenya Defence Forces Football Association (KDFFA) chairman Brigadier Aphaxard Kiugu expressed his satisfaction and assured the new sponsors that the cash will be put into propers use.
“We are delighted to welcome Elitebet to the team and I know they have come in because of the good performance and above all the discipline of the team. As a team, our motto has always been soliders first and as soldiers, we have codes of conduct which guide us,”
“I want to assure you that this money will be put into very good use and for its intended purpose,” said Brigadier Kiugu.
Ulinzi have not had a sponsor since the end of June last year when their contract with Engen and UAP Insurance ran out.
