Togo must get a cure for their “travel sickness” when they tackle Algeria at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in their opening 2019 African Nations Cup qualifier on Sunday.
Togo have not won an away match for almost a year and this is a concern for coach ahead of what promises to be a tough encounter in the Algeria capital in a country that is slowly trying to recover from unrest.
All the Togolese fans have in mind the last encounter of Togo aganist Algeria, it was at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations that was held in South Africa where Hawks scooped a 2-0 victory.
Since then Algeria has witnessed changes in technical bench as well as getting fresh and promising talents in their squad. Algeria is now headed by the Spanish Lucas Alcaraz after the unsuccessive tenures of Milovan Rajevac and Georges Leekens.
Soccer pundits have tagged Algeriaa as a favorite putting in mind their last two Africa Cup of Nations performances.The last failure in AFCON though has been widely commented on and thus it is a team that wants to set out on new message when they meet the Hawks tonight.

Togolese last game was a friendly which they lost aganist the Syli National of Guinea 2 – 1 in friendly a few days ago. Lucas Alcaraz already wants to put a mark to this team and this through a beautiful encounter with the Sparrow Hawks who will try to defend in numbers away.
Togo have slipped down the African and world rankings since their glory days in 2010.
