South Africa are out to maintain their fiery form when they host Zambia in an international friendly match at the Moruleng Stadium tomorrow.

Bafana Bafana are flying high after they stunned Nigeria 2-0 on Saturday in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match.

Stuart Baxter’s men put up a high-octane show to break a 25 years jinx aganist Super Eagles and maintain their unbeaten record in the past six months.

“It is a process and we need to maintain against Zambia because if we beat Nigeria and lose against Zambia, we will get the stick. We have begun a process of developing something big. We need to maintain that pace against Zambia,” said Baxter.

The coach said there is now a glimpse of that South African style in the team and called fans, all stakeholders including the PSL to pull in one direction to achieve bigger things.

“I saw that great technique, arrogance, stability on the ball and confidence; this is typical South African culture of playing football. Who knows, we might be starting something special.

“We had that tenacity in defence and creativity in the midfield; this is the hallmark of South African style of football.”

Baxter urged his players and the rest of technical bench to remain forcused so that the team can achieve greater heights.

“But winning helps one develop mentally and physically. It breeds confidence. I would like a team that also responds strongly to adversity. That is how great football nations are made,” he concluded.
