South Africa will be without several players including France-based midfielder Keagan Dolly for Tuesday’s friendly against Zambia at Moruleng Stadium in North West.
Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter confirmed the absence of Erick Mathoho as well as Themba Zwane,Tokelo Rantie on the team’s injury list ahead of their clash with Chipolopolo.
Captain Thulani Hlatshwayo will also be rested with Rivalso Coetzee and Lorenzo Gordinho expected to make their first appearance in Bafana jersey.
“Tower’ [Mathoho] will be out,” Baxter told the media.
“Partly because he had a concussion before he came on camp and then he also had a smack on his shoulder,” he added.
“So we’ll have a young pairing – the skipper will be on the bench,” he said.
“I can give you that much. We’ll have Lorenzo and Rivaldo,” Baxter continued.
“It will be an interesting pairing playing against a strong Zambia team. Can they cope? We’ll see,” he concluded.
South Africa will be seeking to extend their form after defeating Nigeria 2-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last weekend.
