Huddersfield Town are close to signing Benin national team forward Steve Mounie from Montpellier for £11.5m.
The two clubs are believed to have been in talks for a number of weeks over Mounie, with Montpellier originally seeking £13m for the player.
According to L’quipe, Montpellier are now prepared to accepted the reduced fee – which is still a pretty big fee – for the 22year-old.
The Benin forward, who can play out wide or behind the centre-forward, scored 14 goals in 22 games last season and his form has caught the eye of several clubs in England.
Both Leicester and West Brom have romoured to be tracking on him with Fulham also having shown intrest too.
If the move goes through this would be a record for a Benin footballer after that of Rudy Gestee at Aston Villa and Stephane Ssegnon in Sunderland.
