Cameroon are aware of their weakness as they prepare to meet Australia on Thursday June 22,2017 in a Confederations Cup match set to be played at St Petersburg Stadium in Russia.
The Indomitable Lions lost their first match aganist Chile with coach Hugo Broos blaming on weather conditions saying that it affected his players but has promised today will be a diffrent game.
“We had a good game against Chile, except for the first twenty minutes. Perhaps the difficulties due to the climate, since we made our preparation in a hot climate. For the game against Australia we expect to see players having a lot of enthusiasm and fighting spirit. We are going to play a very tough team that will propose a different style of play than what we had with Chile. It’s a good team but we have to be at our best. We want to beat them, we have to beat them to keep our chances of going to the second round, because in case of defeat, it’s over for us. We know what we have to do even if we recognize that it will be a very difficult match. We played well against Chile, but we took the first goal. We have also taken a great deal of risk in seeking equalization. But the energy debauchery of the first half did not help my players who conceded a 2nd goal. Which is deplorable. But we know that the two games ahead, we have to win, we want to win whatever the outcome.
“For this match we will discover for the first time the stadium, I know it is a very beautiful stadium. This could be a motivational source for players to play in such a stage. It was a long time ago (it was in the 80s) that I played here against Zenith St Petersburg. I still remember the stadium that has nothing to do with today. We had lost on the way back and forth, we reversed the steam to qualify. But I keep a good memory of the city for the beauty of its buildings, although I am not a big fan of painting and the like.
