FC Lorient striker Benjamin Moukandjo believes the Indomitable Lions boasts of quality players to qualify the country for 2018 World Cup Russia.
Cameroon captain, Moukandjo has backed the present crop of Indomitable Lions to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
The Lorient midfielder led team lost two games and drew one at the Confederations Cup aganist South American champions,Chile which they lost 2-0, drew 1-1 aganist Socceroos of Australia and lost 3-1 to a Germany second string side which made the African Champions gain more experience ahead of task ahead.
“We showed that we’ve got quality, but obviously, we’ve still got work to do if we’re going to trouble the big boys.
“We’ve got a young team that’s only just getting acquainted with international competitions.
“We’ve now got a better idea of where we stand, which will help us come back stronger next year and target the World Cup with a lot more going for us,” said Moukandjo in an interview with Fifa.com.
Cameroon will be targeting two successive wins over Nigeria when they face in their 2018 World Cup Qualifying games in August and September respectively.
Indomitable Lions are second on the table having secured two points from two games while Nigeria have a maximum six points from two games.
They will travel to Nigeria on August 27, and then host Nigeria on September 2 for the reverse fixture.
