Augostino Inacio Soares has parted ways with Zamalek SC moments after going down 3-1 away to CAPS United in the African Champions League in Harare, Zimbabwe Sunday.
The loss severely dented the five-time champions’ chances of a quarters berth – making the Portuguese’s stay untenable.
Inaciao, 62, joined the Egyptian giants April 2017 on a one-year deal after guiding Moreirense to Portuguese Cup glory in January same year.
He becomes the seventh manager to unceremoniously leave Zamalek in less than a year.
Others who went before him includes in predecessor Moamen Soliman, Mohammed Helmy, Alex Mcleish, Mohamed Salah, Mido and Marcos Paqueta.
Zamalek are rock bottom in the CAF Champions League group B standings on five points – three off joint leaders USM Alger and Al Ahli Tripoli.
They finished third in the just ended Egyptian Premier outside the African Champions League bracket and will sit out the 2018 edition.
