Danbort FC has decided withdraw from the Ghana’s National Division One League due to bad officiating.
According to reliable source at the Nungua based club, the owner Daniel Bortet Quaye could not just understand why his plea to the referee appointment committee to change the referee Juliet Appiah in their game aganist Dreams FC proved futile.
Dreams FC secured maximum points in their 2-1 in a match where Danbort goalkeeper was shown a red card in the second half of the game.
Danbort protested vehemently but the match referee decision remained promting the club to claim that the match official was planted so as he can assist Dreams FC win the match.
Already the owner of the club has informed the headcoach Evans Adjei who confirmed the decision to members of press this afternoon.
“Its true he has told us that he is quitting football which obviously will be a big blow to us as a club.
“We went to training today but even our equipment officer did not turn up hence we couldn’t hold the training and from the look of things it does not look like he is rescinding his decision but we just hoping he agrees to come back since some respected personalities are in talks with him to come back,” Adjei said.
Danbort FC lies 7th on the zone three league table with 25 points and now their decision will force the league organizers to align the league fixtures so that the other contenders play their remaining matches with the standings also waiting for adjustments.
