Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) presidential aspirant Sanusi Bruski Kargbo has warned the Isha Johansen led administration against postponing the upcoming August polls.
Sanusi is categorical he and the other football stakeholders will only offer the administration a two-week period to conduct an elective congress when their term expires on August 3rd 2017.
Kargbo made this strong warning at his official declaration ceremony for the SLFA presidency last Friday at the Victoria Park in Freetown.
“We are getting rumors from the Isha led constituency of their proposed bid to FIFA in postponing the elections till December. We are giving them a clear message now that they only have a limited time at the Secretariat until 3rd August when their term expires as per the constitution,” the East End Lions F.C chairman said.

He added that the country’s football needs to be sustainable, and in achieving such there is a need for someone who is financially equipped and capable of accounting for every money allocated for football to be in charge.
He said the people of Sierra Leone need some one who has respect for the Football Association membership and someone who doesn’t intimidate or falsely suspend football stakeholders and players for four years with no investigations carried out, which according to according to him is inhuman to the universal game of football.
“I will send this message to you all, when elected as the next SLFA president, I will not be going for any revenge or be sparring with anyone, I will be the unifier for our beautiful game. My main aim will be to restore Sierra Leone back to its place in Africa and the World at large,” Sanusi affirmed.
The multi construction businessman promised that under his regime he will ensure football is taken to the communities in away that people can invest in clubs.
“I will also ensure that we seek consortium sponsorship with companies operating in the country to support the game.”
Sanusi is a former ally of Isha Johansen and his intention to vie against her is viewed as a big blow to her quest to retain the seat she won controversially in 2013.
Out of the 47 delegates, Sanusi claims to have the backing of 40.
Isha is year to officially made her intention of going for a second term public, her Secretary General Chris Kamara has however been quoted saying she is in the race and on pole position to retain the seat.
