Mozambique national team on Sunday night drew 2-2 with Madagascar in a 2018 CHAN qualifier paced match played under hot conditions in Antananarivo.
Salomao Mandlane outdid the Madagascar defenders in the 5th minute to lob the ball past Madagascar’s goalkeeper Leda for Mozambique’s opening goal.
Forty minutes later Mozambique’s Njiva Rakotoarimalala beat Mabucho in the defense to equalize for the home side.
The second half was equally balanced with both teams registering scares in the other’s defense line.
However, Mozambique seemed more comfortable on the ground more familiar to them as they had ample playing time on the home stadium’s equal.
In the 51th minute,Njiva Rakotorimalala went for a brace glory against Mozambique when he slotted home a neat goal after great combination from the Madagascar midfield.
This was however not to be another win for the home side as lack of concentration allowed in an easy equalizer from Manuel Fenandes five minutes later.
Return match is set to be played this coming weekend in Maputo.
