Ugandan international Joseph Ochaya is on the verge of joining Spain’s Sociedad Deportiva Eibar from Zambia’s Lusaka Dynamos.
According to a source close to the defender, the two clubs have been in talks for last two weeks and a deal could be reached when Ochaya reaches Spain.
The erstwhile Lusaka Dynamos defender left the country on Sunday for Spain via Austria and official presentation date is set to be announced in the next few days.
The 23-year-old is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Spanish club thus starting a new chapter in his career after a successful spell in Uganda, winning two Premier League tittles before moving to Zambia.
Ochaya ‘s move to Spain will be his third time to play outside Uganda. In 2012 he left KCCA for Ghana’s Asante Kotoko where he played for close to two seasons before falling out with the club in 2014.
If he succeeds he will become the second East African player to feature for a Spanish La Liga side after Kenyan MacDonald Mariga who played for Real Socidead in year 2011.
