Zambia punished Madagascar with 7-1 thrashing in the opening day of the 2017 COSAFA Under-17 Championship in Mauritus on Friday.
The goals were scored by a Lameck Banda,Martin Njobvu hat-tricks and one goal from Kingsley Hakwiya.
Junior Chipolopolo produced a magical performance to completely outplay Madagascar , who could have lost by an even bigger margin had goalkeeper Avo not made several excellent saves.
Zambia started like a house on fire, using their pace to consistently get in behind the flat-footed Madagascar backline.
Striker Lameck Banda had particular joy in the channel just inside the Magascareft-back. However, it was a rare misjudgment from Amothat saw Zambia open the scoring through Banda.
On 19 minutes Chipolopolo made it 2-0, with Njobvu netting a lovely goal from Muma Mumba pass.
Kimgsley Hakwiya converted a free-kick from Andrew Phiri to make it 3-0 on the 31st minute befoe Banda completed his hat-trick before the brake and Njodvu added another.
It took half an hour into the second period for Njobvu to complete his hat-trick when he skirted past three defenders to score.
Madagascar were awarded a penalty with a little over 10 minutes to go and grabbed a consolation when Mamisoa Andriamalala converted.
