Zimbabwe were crashed out of the CHAN 2018 by Namibia at the National Stadium,in Harare, on Sunday.
Warriors crashed to a 5-4 penalty shoot-out loss having won 1-0 in the regulation 90 minutes, a result that pushed the match straight to penalties due to a 1-1 aggregate.
Prince Dube had the perfect start to his Warriors career after opening the scoring in the 39 th minute to put the result ‘safe’.
Zimbabwe were largely the better side in the opening 45 minutes, though the latter stages of the first period were a little scrappy as possession switched constantly.
The game became a little disjointed as Namibia’s touches started going astray while Zimbaee tried to find a way back.
Namibia remained composed and were nearly rewarded with six minutes but failed to utilize an open chance.
The added time proved unfruitful for the home side resulting into the penalties shoot out.
Devon Chafa, Milton Ncube, Praise Tonha, Dennis Dauda all converted their spot kick but Black Rhinos keeper Herbert Rusawo had his saved as Namibia proceeded.
Namibia will now proceed to the next round of the competition where they will meet Comoros.
