The Tanzania Vodacom Premier league,the country’s top tier football league has been pushed forward from the initial August 22nd to September 12th.
According to the governing body TFF,the decision to reach at the change was to give head coach Charles Mkwasa time to prepare the National team who will host Nigeria in the 2017 AFCON qualifier which will take place on September 5th.
In a letter addressed to the 16 clubs that will participate in the league,it also states that the league matches will be congested with some matches being played over the weekdays to act as a catch up.
It also noted that the weekend of October 25th,no matches will be played as the Country will be going to the Presidential and Parliamentary polls.
The community shield match that acts a curtain raiser between defending champions Yanga and runners up Azam will be played on the same day.
The transfer window however remains unchanged.
