APR FC cruised past minnows Heegan FC 2-0 while Azam dismissed Malakia by the same margin to book a slot each in the quarters.
Captain John Raphael Bocco continued with the rich vein of form, scoring his second goal of the tournament in the Azam’s 2-0 triumph over South Sudan’s Malakia at the Sheikh Abeid Karume Stadium, the Taifa Stars international netted the winner in their opening tie against KCCA. Kipre Tche Tche scored the second of the day to seal the emphatic win over Malakia.
Azam tops group “C” with six points, followed by Malakia with three points. KCCA and Adama City who are winless thus far in the group face off in a must win encounter tomorrow.
Rwanda’s APR registered their second win in the group with the resounding victory against Somalia’s Heegan FC at the National Stadium. Michel Ndahinduka opened scoring for the military side in the 27th minute before Fiston Nkinzingabo doubled the lead in the 48th minute to complete the comfortable victory. APR also won their opener 1-0 against Al Shendi of Sudan, they lead group “B” with six points.
In a another match of the group, LLB AFC and Al Shendi settled for a 2-2 draw.
