Mauritania Football Federation (FFRIM) and Attijari Bank of Mauritania on Friday extended their partnership for the next one year.
The new deal allows Attijari Bank pump unspecified amount of cash to the national team with an aim of helping Mauritania attain qualification for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that will be hosted in Cameroon.
Speaking during the event,FFRIM President,Ahmed Yahya welcomed the new development saying that it will contribute much in building the team that will fight for a spot in African football showpiece.
“We welcome the renewal of our partnership with Attijari Bank for another one year.
“We hope that this new commintment will improve the game and help national team qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations,” said Yahya.
The earlier deal had made Attijari Wafa Bank the federation’s official banking patners.
The new deal was finalised with a contract signed by representatives from both camps at the federations headquarters on Friday.
The parties said the deal is geared towards improving the national team position in FIFA World Rankings.
And in an interview the Director of Attijari Bank,Othmane Boudhaimi highlighted the work done by the FFRIm in all categories including the youth teams.
“Football in particular is a sport that is involved in economic and social development of the young people,”
“Attijara Bank remains committed to its values,especially in improving lives of our citizens thus it intends to extend support in efforts undertaken by Mauritania Football Federation in inproving the game,”said Boudhaimi.
The parties agreed that their partnership has seen the fortunes of the game improving which is justified by the national team being position 81st in the latest FIFA rankings.
