Despite not being in the local squad to face Nigeria in a third round of CHAN 2018 qualifiers, Benin national team defender Salomon Junior has taken up another key role of providing tips on players making up the Super Eagles team.
All of the players traveling to Benin are playing with Junior at Nigeria Proffesional League and some of them are well known to the national team defender.
Junior who plays for Plateau United in Nigeria adviced both players and techinical bench on what they should expect.
“The Nigerian League is a strong championship with a lot of quality players. The level is high.
“Currently Nigeria is in camp with 30 good players like Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars, Stephen Obey of MFM, Alahasan Ibrahim of Akwa United and many others,”he said.
“For my young local brothers, I will say that Nigeria has a good team, with experienced players. You must continue to work hard,”added Junior
“For technical bench, it is to continue to work and by God’s grace Benin will qualify. So it is now that we must begin the preparation because it will be an important match,” he concluded.
Benin dumped out by Togo last Sunday to set up a date against Nigeria with the first leg match slated to be played in Cotonou on 13th August.
