Gabon international Maria Lemina has joined Southampton from Juventus in a club record deal worth up to €20 million on a five-year deal.
The 23-year-old midfielder consideration may increase of maximum €3 million on achieving sport condition in the course of duration of the contract.
Lemina joins the English Premier League outfit after spending two seasons in Turin.
After initially joining the Bianconeri on loan in September 2015, Juve made his move from Marseille permanent in April the following year, the midfielder demonstrating undisputed technical skill and an impressive work-rate during matches and training sessions alike.
Best known for his defensive qualities – he won 157 duels and 52 tackles in his 42 appearances – Lemina also notched three goals in the black and white, all of which coming away from home against Napoli, Atalanta and most recently Roma.
It was at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome that the Gabon international played two Coppa Italia finals, winning both, whilst he also contributed to consecutive Scudetto triumphs that confirmed the club’s unprecedented three domestic doubles in a row.
