Liberia national team will start training on Monday afternoon, starting 1600 Hrs local time at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
The first week of residential training, in preparation for the inaugural edition of the Fox Sports sponsored WAFU Nations Cup will take place at a different venue after it emerged that the turf they will play in during their opening game is artificial.
Already coach James Debbah has summoned 22 local and foreign based players that are currently out of contract.The players include Abdulai Koulibaly, Tommy Gbayeh Songo’s, Aloysius S. Simujla, Carlos Kofa Williams and Nuwo Alexander Johnson.
Malacar Cooper ,Kemoh Kamara ,Prince Balde, Richard Daddyboy Llyod and Kelvin Potis.
Others are David Teklo Tweh, John Jaysay, James P. Walatee , Amadiah Kawah, Terrence Leonard TisdelL, and Alvin McConnell.
Strikers invited from the local league are Van Dave Harmon, Christopher Jackson, Mark Paye and Mustapha Yayah Lomell.
Meanwhile, Liberian international stars currently out of their respective contracts but qualify to play in the tournament have been invited to training with the team for possible inclusion in the competition.
They are Marcus Macaulay, Sekou Jabeteh, Isaac Pupo Jr., and Solomon Grimes.
Liberia meets Senegal on September 10, 2017 in Cape Coast, Ghana in the knockout stage of the competition with the winner from that game proceeding to the group stage of the WAFU Nations Cup.
