Namibia were targetting a victory or a goalless draw in order to advance to the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals when they clashed with Comoros in the return leg of the third round of qualifiers.
The first shot at goal went to Mohammed Youssouf a minute into the gamem who tried his luck from distance,but his attempt was too tame to trouble Namibia goalkeeper Edward Maova.
At the other end Namibia central attacking midfielder Simba controlledthe ball very well in he ninth minutebefore placing his effort wide from range.
Namibia were now in control of the game and dominating possesion as they searched for the opening goal of the match.
In the 32nd tricky winger Benjamin Nenkavu unleashed a long range effort which was well save by Comoros goalkeeper Velnjara.
Comoros pushed forward ten minutes before the interval and they were awarded a free-kick in a promising position.Goula’s effort from a resultant free-kick was cleared away by Tiberus Lambard.
In the second stanza Namibia began brightly after two changes and their efforts were rewarded in the 54th minute when Mua Katupose sent a powerful header for the opener.
With 10 minutes to go,Katupose was at it a again to bag the winner for Brave Warriors who were last week beaten 2-1 by the isladers.
Namibia has now qualified on 3-2 aggregate for the finals of the competition that will be hosted by Kenya in early next year.
